I got into CrossFit fairly recently, just last year. My brother, a hockey player, introduced me to it when I was 15 as they incorporate a lot of CrossFit training into their routines. It’s not about talent, just hard work. There’s a lot to learn, but I’m enjoying the journey. I’m a 4th year medical student, but also a qualified trainer. I came 15th fittest woman in Kuwait through a national CrossFit competition. At one point in one of the hardest workouts I’ve ever done at a competition, it was almost like an out of body experience, my body was just on autopilot; I couldn’t feel my limbs.
Be kind to your body; as long as you’re healthy, everything else will follow. Your self worth does not come from how you look or what you eat, it’s associated with how you feel. It’s all a mental state. I do it for my own mental sanity.
I’ve been an athlete my whole life, but it took getting a huge liver health scare from the bad lifestyle choices you’re fed here in Kuwait to push me to join CrossFit.
